James Fosdike was interviewed by ABC Radio (”Australia’s version of the BBC,” he says) in his native Australia: in the podcast, he discusses DEADLY and its aboriginal themes as well as the work he’s done with Adelaide’s indigenous community. The podcast is available via Speaking Out on ABC, a show focused on the cultural and political issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in Australia. Headphones!

Gabe Ostley (THE HAMMER) and his wife Haruka drew and colored this HIGH MOON fan piece. As Gabe says, “Werewolves are fun.” High moon is available on Comixology — so far there are 7 issues available. More to come.

Gabe Ostley of THE HAMMER tipped me off on this trailer for the comic. It’s got tons of fan art and features the charmingly rudimentary drumming of Meg White. Stop. Hammertime.

To commemorate Dean Haspiel’s recent Emmy win, I wrote this haiku:
Dean won an Emmy
I think that’s pretty alright
Won for Bored To Death
You can read more about Dean’s win on Newsarama. Dean’s Zuda comic, STREET CODE, is available via Comixology.

Here’s some great Re-Evolution news. Looks like Chehuahua and his Guerilla Wild will be the center of an art exhibit at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center in San Antonio, Texas this coming Fall 2010. This is a very exciting opportunity for Juan and myself who have both been invited to attend the opening of the show which will be on Thursday Sept. 16th. Additionally, Juan and I will be doing a lecture/talk on Saturday Sept. 18. Juan will be focusing on Latin American comics and I will talking about “Comics in the Digital Age. I can’t even begin to explain how exciting this is for us. First off for having the honor to have Re-Evolution be part of the exhibit and secondly because I’ll be able to re-unite with Juan Felipe who is going to come all the way from Colombia to attend the event and explore Texas with me. What an exciting time it will be!
The image below is a preview of some art Juan has created for the event. The Guadalupe Arts Center will be releasing all the official programs and images soon so stay tuned for more information as we get closer to the event.
Viva La Re-evolution!

Hot on the heels of Tuesday’s post — where AZURE’s Daniel Govar submitted his pen and ink fan-piece for James Fosdike’s DEADLY — Foz himself colors it. Gorgeous and glowy. AZURE #3 is available on Comixology as of this week.

Jack steps in the hazing of eons old rituals as a polarized community begrudgingly changes hands between tribes.
